The Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) has applauded the recent rating of Nigeria as the most valuable country in Africa and the 40th most valuable country in the world.
This is sequel to the 2019 report of Brand Finance United Kingdom which stated that Nigeria beat South Africa and Egypt to 2nd and 3rd places in Africa in the rating which key elements were Food and Services, Investments and Society.
BMO noted that in 2018 in the same ranking by the same body,  Nigeria trailed behind South Africa at No 2 in Africa and 48 in the World.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Niyi Akinsiju and Secretary, Cassidy Madueke, BMO noted that in the area of investments, three key areas were taken into consideration; these are Governance, Market Accessibility and Ease of Doing Business, Human Capital Index and Skills Development.
“We note that under President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, conscious efforts have been made to reposition the country, especially as it relates to Security, Economy, Fight against corruption, and all these are beginning to manifest in the several global recognitions the country has garnered in recent times.
“The report also captured the milestones attained under the Society sub-sector which include Corporate Ethics, Quality of Citizens Lives, Image of the Country and Judicial System.”
BMO also noted that based on President Buhari’s commitment to rebuilding the country he has given marching orders to members of his administration to ensure openness in governance, provide infrastructure across the country and add value to the lives of citizens.
“We therefore find reasons to celebrate the achievements being recorded under the Buhari administration, which unfortunately the opposition elements and a section of the media choose to overlook.
We call on Nigerians to always repose faith in the administration as it is poised to continue on the already established development trajectory.”
