A 6.4 magnitude earthquake has struck Taiwan, causing massive buildings to collapse.

The quake struck 14 miles northeast of Hua-lien at a depth of 1km, the US Geological Survey said on Tuesday.

No other details were immediately available.

However, shocking photos emerged showing entire high-rise buildings reduced to rubble. One building, the Tongshuai Hotel, was seen crumbling into the ground.
