Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has pledged compensation for property owners on the Oshodi / Airport road which reconstruction had started.
The 10 lane road project would be completed in 15 months time according to the state government.
Information and Strategy Commissioner to Ambode, Steve Ayorinde said regardless of how massive the project appears the government will not have problem with compensation.
Ayorinde was speaking on Channels Televion on ghe readiness of the government as regards the project.
He said those to be compensated had been identified and that the government has the capacity to complete the multi billion naira project without feeling it that much because of the bouyant economy of the state.
Ambode pitched for the road which has become an eyesore to everyone being the gateway to the country’ s most populous city.
Recently, the federal government gave him approval to rebuild the road.
On Tuesday, September 5 contractors mobilised to the site in readiness for full work on the project.
Ambode or his representatives will be meeting on Thursday, September 7 with officials of the Federal Aviation Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) on how to manage the information on movement of road users on that window gor the period the reconstruction will last.
