A couple, Mr. and Mrs. Chigozie Ezeofor are now in police custody explaining to the authorities all they knew about the reported case of sexual and physical assault on their house help, Blessing Joseph.
Lagos State Police Command’s Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, is passionate about cases of violence and ordered the arrest and interrogation of the couple from their residence at Isheri Oshun area of Lagos on Tuesday.
Joseph told the police she has suffered regular several inhuman treatment in the hands of the Ezeofors.
While she claimed that her “madam”, Isioma, beats her up at the slightest provocation, her husband, Chigozie, abuses her sexually whenever the wife is away. She said the “oga” had made several painful attempts to penetrate her anus.
On Sunday, December 17, 2017 Mrs. Ezeofor’s allegedly poured a kettle of hot water on her, causing Joseph to have scalded skin.
The matter was reported to the police by a neighbour who said she was concerned over the treatment meted to the maid.
the couple are being interrogated at the Gender Section of Lagos State Police Command and would charged to court at the end of the investigation, according to the Police Public Relations Officer for Lagos State Police Command, Chike Oti.
