A Lagos High Court, on Friday, ordered the arrest and possibly, detention of the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturer (IVM), Chief Innocent Chukwuma for failure to honour the court summons.
Justice Mojisola Dada of an Ikeja High Court, gave the order against Chukwuma when she learnt that the man who owns the first private vehicle manufacturing plant in Nigeria, rebuffed her earlier order summoning Chukwuma to appear before the court to face trial.
Dada ruled that the Nnewi-based businessman who has been having a running battle with GTBank PLC of late, and was even arrested last year by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), must be arrested and brought to court on the next adjourned date of March 14.
