Two Indian nationals believed to be staff of the Dangote Refinery have died of complications from the deadly coronavirus disease.A source hinted that the two Indians died at Jajo Hospital, located at Akora Village, in Adeniyi Jones Jones, Ikeja Lagos. The source hinted that the hospital and Dangote Group are doing every thing to cover up the matter for fear of being stigmatized.Armada News gathered that the hospital didn’t follow the rules provided by the Ministry of Health and the NCDC in handling the matter as those who attended to the first Indian national merely ruled out the symptoms of COVID-19 because he claimed he had not travelled out of Nigeria in the recent past.He was said to have complained of fatigue and was treated and discharged. But he was brought back to hospital after he started exhibiting symptoms of flu, which promoted the hospital to refer him to Lagoon Hospital also on Adeniyi Jones, where the tests revealed symptoms of the COVID-19.He was said to have been refused admission and was subsequently taken back to Jajo Hospital, where he and the other Indian national died. The Jajo Hospital and Dangote Group management were said to have failed to notify the NCDC and the Federal Ministry of Health about the cases. Also, a staff of First Bank has died of complications fr the COVID-19.A statement on Saturday by the bank’s Spokesperson, Folake Ani-Mumuney, said the late staff, identified as Abdullahi Lawal worked at one of the bank branches in Kano. The statement read: “FirstBank mourns as we confirm the loss of our staff, Abdullahi Lawal who until his passing worked at our Kano Main Branch.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time as we do all that is necessary to support them. We ask that all necessary courtesies be extended to the family so they can grieve privately.
“As a responsible corporate organization, FirstBank has been at the forefront of the concerted efforts against the coronavirus pandemic alongside others.
“We have robust protocols in place including practicing social distancing, frequently disinfecting our buildings and locations even whilst ensuring services are available through our alternative channels such as our ATMs and other digital platforms.
“We have immediately, therefore, shut down access to the premises as we disinfect the entire location and ask all staff and customers who may have been in contact with our late colleague to follow the NCDC guidelines and self-isolate. We will, as a matter of course, extend all possible support to staff and customers at this difficult time.
“Our thoughts are with the family he left behind and indeed with the wider FirstBank family who mourns this loss deeply at this time.
“We remain committed to protecting the health and safety of all staff, customers, and host communities, as together the fight against coronavirus will be won.”
