A crack seems to have

Governor of Ekiti State Ayodele Fayose

appeared in the body of Nigerian Governors Forum over the recent decision by the group for the federal government to pull $1 billion from the excess crude account to fight terrorism in the country.

The governors reportedly took the decision at tbe recent National Economic Council meeting presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

But it appears there was no formal meeting preceding the day the pronouncement was made leading to some of the governors distancing themselves from the decision.

Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose who is the Chair of PDP Governors Forum is leading the camp of those opposed to the idea, ssying he was mot consulted on the matter.

Armadanews.com learnt that more PDP governors are likely going to kick against the withdrawal, with a source hinting that they may use ghe court to scuttle the plan.

Just as Fayose kicked against the idea, Borno State governor Kassim Shettima on Saturday upbraided his colleagues campaigning against the move, saying that in the past, during the PDP era,  such intervention was once made.

Governor of Zamfara State Yari also thinks there is nothing wrong in using the money to fight against insurgency across the country.

But it appears those critical of the idea hing their logic in the fact that bulk of the money may eventually not be utilised for the purpose it may have been suggested. Some think it is an attempt to put more money in the pocket of northern governors ahead of the 2019 election.
