Nigerian popular blogger, Linda Ikeji, has said she never told young women not to have sex, but to do that while in marriage.
She also said she maintains her earlier stance that young ladies should not submit their bodies for money, but should start early to pursue their life ambition as no amount of sleeping around for money will bring them fulfilment.
Linda, 37, made clarification against the backdrop of confirmation that she was pregnant for an unnamed partner.
One of the persons who said Linda was not pregnant is the activist daughter of former governor of Oyo State, Dr. Omololu Olunloyo, Kemi.
Kemi Olunloyo said on a video trending on Facebook that Linda cannot be pregnant, and that she was only acting pregnancy to further enhance her social media popularity.
But Linda has proved Kemi wrong, displaying her baby bumps on her instagram wall on Wednesday.
She also took time to explain what she said before concerning being celibate.
Linda said: “About this celibacy issue. I preached it a lot of times but I have NEVER said do not have sex before marriage. Here’s what I have always said to young girls and I maintain it.
“Never ever give your body to a man for money. You’re worth so much more than that. You’re beautiful beyond measure and there’s absolutely nothing a man can give you that you can’t give yourself if you apply yourself, believe in yourself and work hard.”
Linda said she was 100 percent celibate until she was ready to marry, saying she has met the man of my dreams whose identity she was not ready to share on the internet.
Linda’s pregnant photograph was released at the weekend with many of her followers asking why she should be pregnant when she does not have sex. Some queried her sincerity of purpose by asking them to stay away from sex when she was busy doing it with someone else, howbeit in the secret.
