The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has confirmed the arrest and detention of a former Senate President, Bukola Saraki.
EFCC’s spokesman, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja that Saraki was invited for questioning over allegations of corruption and money laundering.
Uwujaren said that Saraki, who was also a former governor of Kwara State was currently in the custody of the commission for continuation of interrogation.
Last week, a former Nasarawa State governor, Tanko al-Makura; and his wife, Mairo, were invited and interrogated by the commission over alleged breach of public trust and misappropriation of billions of naira by his administration. SOURCE: NAN
