Governor Nasir El- Rufai of Kaduna State has dared the protesting members of the Nigeria Labour Congress over the sack of more than 21,000 teachers who failed the government’s competency test.
The NLC leadership led by Ayuba Wabba went on protest in Kaduna on Thursday to persuade the government to recall the sacked teachers.
The protesting NLC members with members of the Kaduna State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teachers who have been on strike since last week barricaded the roads and headed for the government house where they were stopped by the security.
But an aide to the governor, Saidu Adamu was later available to attend to them.
Speaking on Channels Television last night El- Rufai said there is no going back on the earlier decision on the sacked 21, 780 teachers, saying that his administrative was determined to give children attending public schools in Kaduna State the best.
He described the protesting labour leaders as interested parties insisting that the sacked teachers were not trainable.
