El-Rufai orders demolition of factional APC office in Kaduna

Governor Nasir el-Rufai has ordered the demolition of the head office of the Senator Hukunyi Suleiman-led All Progressives Congress (APC) faction that suspended him.

According to Arise News247 source, the demolition started at about 3:48 am on Tuesday February 20, and was supervised by security forces well armed along with some suspected thugs.

The APC secretariat located at 11B, Sambo Road, GRA Kaduna has been completely reduced to rubbles as at the time of filling this report.

Further finding has it that KASUPDA was said to have served a notice on the building for none payment of eight years grant rent as at about 3:49 pm on Monday, February 19, 2018 and as at 3:48 am this morning (about 12 hours after) the demolition of the building had commenced.

El-Rufai has been having running battle with the two senators elected on the platform of APC in Kaduna- Hunkuyi and Shehu Sani, with the senators insisting the governor should not be reelected.

The factional APC had suspended El-Rufai on Monday, February 19.

Meanwhile,  El-Rufai also on Tuesday, February 20, reacted to the demolition .

He did in a statement on his Facebook page signed by the spokesperson of Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Agency (KAPSUDA) where he stated that the parastatal in partnership with sister agencies, is clearing illegal structures, tackling street hawking and restoring order across the state.

He added that the land has now been allocated to KASUPDA for the purpose of developing and maintaining a public park that will provide a green area for recreation.
