The National Chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Victor Oye has said that the son of late Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu-Ojukwu, Emeka Ojukwu Jnr. has betrayed his father by abandoning the party his father founded and nurtured till he died to seek succour elsewhere over lousy excuses.
Ojukwu Jnr. recently dumped APGA for the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), citing the need for the Igbo to be in the mainstream politics in Nigeria.
He had also said that the dream of his late father was to take the Igbo to the mainstream of Nigerian politcs and not to champion a sectional party.
But Ojukwu Jnr. has been knocked all side s by those who believe he is trying to exhume the dead from the wrong side.
APGA National Chairman, Oye fired the first salvo describing Ojukwu Jnr. as a prodigal son for abandoning a party his father groomed as its perpetual leader till he died.
Governor Willie Obiano recently told reporters in Abuja that the party will not miss Ojukwu Jnr., an indication that he adds little value to APGA unlike his father who every APGA member wanted to associate with to win election.
There are APGA members who say Ojukwu Jr. is a saboteur, a black leg who needs help. In fact, chieftain of the APGA likened him to a big buffoon who does not understand what he wants. ” He has run to APC to seek for non existing ministerial appointment. He will soon quit when he realises that what they promised him to mess up his father’s sweat does not exist. Then the scale would have fallen off his eyes,” the APGA chieftain told Armadanews.com.
