One of Nigeria’s surviving members of the Zikist Movement, Chief Bob Ogbuagu is dead. He was 92.
Ogbuagu, a media guru and outstanding Public relations practitioner reportedly died on Monday, August 21 at his Abia State home.
A one time Managing Director of Champion Newspapers Limited, as well as numerous other companies as director, Ogbuagu popularly called De Bob by his admirers, was one of the founding fathers of today’s Abia state, and was instrumental to many of the successes recorded inn the Eastern part of Nigeria from the first Republic till date.
As a consumate public relations expert, Ogbuagu was President Emeritus of the Federation of African Public Relations Associations (FAPRA now APRA) till he died.
Born on Sunday, May 25, 1925, to a school teacher, Chief Francis Udegbu and Madam Janet Ogbuagu, Bob rose to the pinacle of his profession early in life, and continued to play in the areas of poloitics and economy till he died.
He was married to his hearttrob,Cecilia Chinyere Ogbuagu through whom they had six children, three men and three women.
Ogbuagu is survived by many grand and great-grand children.
