Ex- Governor Babangida Aliyu Remanded in Prison Custody

Former governor of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu, who used to call himself the “servant leader” is to remain in prison custody until Thursday, May 4, a court ruled on Tuesday, April 25.

Justice Mohammed Mayaki of the Niger State High Court who gave the ruling also ordered that the governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in the 2015 election, Umar Nasko, be also remanded in prison.

Aliyu and Naskohe were on Tuesday docked by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on a six-count charge bordering on fraud.
