A former Senator representing Ogun-East Senatorial District, Buruji Kashamu is dead.
Kashamu, who served as Senator from 2015 to 2019, died of COVID-19 complications at the First Cardiology Hospital, Ikoyi, Lagos.
Last month, a former governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi died at the same hospital, also of COVID-19 complications.
Kashamu, who was said to have been on a life support machine for weeks, after his health condition deteriorated, gave up the ghost on Saturday.
Senate Ben Murray Bruce revealed his death on his Twitter handle today: “I have just lost my good friend of forever to #COVID19. Until his death, Sen. Buruji Kashamu and I were inseparable. He died today at First Cardiology Consultants, in Lagos. May his gentle soul rest in peace. I pray his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear this heavy loss.”
