Former secretary general of the United Nations and a great reformer, Kofi Annan is dead.
Annan reportedly died on Saturday, August 18 morning according to his foundation. He was 80 years old.
Annan was said to have died after a brief illness.
His death has thrown the diplomatic world into mourning, and his state Ghana confused.
Annan was a receipient of the Noble Peace Prize.
