Former Vice President of Nigeria, Dr. Alex Ekwueme has died in a London hospital.
He died Sunday night according to his family.
Ekwueme was Vice President between 1979 and 1983 and was a founding member of the opposition People’s Democratic Party.
His health deteriorated last month when he slumped in Enugu.
He was stabilised thereafter and taken to London on the orders of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Ekwueme was hospitalised in the Londondon hospital just last week but the family said he transited peacefully at anout 10pm on Sunday, November 19.
