Extradition: Cotonou Court Adjourns Igboho’s Case Till Friday

The Cour D’Appel De Cotonou, Benin Republic, has adjourned the case involving Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, till Friday, July 23.

Consequenyly, Igboho was returned to the custody of Brigade Criminelle in Cotonou.

Igboho and his wife, Ropo, were arrested at the Cardinal Bernardin International Airport, Cotonou as they were about to catch a flight to Germany.

His lawyer, Yomi Aliyu (SAN) said they were in court on Thursday just to file the case. He said  the court is expected to decide on the merits or otherwise of the international arrest warrant for Igboho.

The court will determine if Igboho will be extradited to Nigeria or not.
