Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has accused the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo of being the brain behind the worsening ordeal which many South West politicians who face one prosecution or the other currently goes through.
He cited his case, that of Ayodele Fayose and others as few example where the vice president had pressed uncomfortable buttons for judicial castration rather than prosecution.
He said Osinbajo works underground in office with others to perpetually cause more problems for his kits and kin because of his selfish political interest.
“He stays in his office to press all manner of buttons to undermine the politicians from the South West because of his own interest,” he said.
Fani-Kayode spoke at a meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders of the South West, where he advised that the South West have a great stake in Nigeria and that no one would be allowed to relegate them.
Fani-Kayode also spoke about how the government of the day at the centre was using religion as a tool appointment and support.
He said, for instance, that the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila is one person who was blackmailed to deny his faith for political reasons.
Fani-Kayode said: “The speaker of the House is from the South West. In terms of religion, he had to do a little bit of tinkering to get that position of Speaker. We all know this. I’ve known Femi for over 45 years now. He is my good friend.
“Religion is a personal issue. But the fact that to enjoy a political office in this country, we now have resorted to the point that you have to change your religion in other to be accepted by some people, it’s unacceptable. That’s not the Nigeria we know.”
