There were indications Monday night that the federal government of Nigeria and members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities have reached an agreement that will pave way for the call off of strike by the lecturers.
Minister of Labour and Employment Chris Ngige dropped the hint Monday night after his meeting with the unviversity teachers.
ASUU has been on strike for nearly two months mow following government’s failure to honour agreement it entered with them on their welfare.
Consequently all students in the federal universities have remained at home even though the academic session for 2018/2019 had long started.
With an agreement now reached it is expected that ASUU will now formally call off the strike.
