Billionaire Femi Otedola on Sunday donated N5billion in support of DJ Cuppy’s Foundation in collaboration with the Save the Children Foundation.
DJ Cuppy is Otedola’s daughter.
Florence Otedola ( DJ Cuppy) held a gala night at the NICON Hilton in Abuja where her Foundation was formally launched.
Her Foundation makes Cuppy an Ambassador of the Save the Children, another non governmental agency working in the North East for the sole aim of attending to children’s issues.
Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote also made a donation of N100million towards the Foundation.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in his address urged private organisations and individuals to support government’s effort in dealing with the myriad problems of malnutrition, diseases, poverty militating against the future of millions of children in the North East, particularly Borno State.
Osinbajo commended Cuppy and urged other youths not to wait until they have become millionaires and billionaires before they do something that will impact the society.
He congratulated Otedola for the bold move and generous donation which he said would go a long way in dealing with issues affecting the children in the North East.
The event attracted prominent Nigerians including three governors of Borno, Lagos and Ogun statea, other politicians, government officials and captains of industry.
