Four persons were rescued alive on Tuesday, when a helicopter crashed into a building in the Oba Akran Ikeja area of Lagos State and burst into flames.
The accident occurred three years after a helicopter operated by Quorom Aviation crashed in the Opebi area of Lagos, killing the three persons onboard.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, was among the early callers at the site, on Oba Akran Avenue, Ikeja, where the small aircraft crash landed.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Benjamin Hundeyin, the pilot and co-pilot were immediately evacuated to a medical facility.
An official of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) told journalists that the aircraft burst into flames as it dropped from the sky.
The LASEMA official also confirmed that the four persons including the pilot on board the ill-fated copter, were all rescued alive and taken to a nearby hospital.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Zonal Coordinator for South-West, Ibrahim Farinloye said the identity of the operator of the helicopter was yet unknown, but confirmed that all those onboard were rescued alive.
