The 2018 world cup held in Russia came to a glorious end on Sunday with France beating Croatia 4-2 to lift the cup.

The French players were decorated with gold medals by the FIFA President George Infantino assisted by some of his officials and the Presidents of the two countries that played the finals.

Croatians were also decorated with silver medals for coming second in the competition.

The President of France and Croatia as well as that of Russia, the host country were among the dignatories who watched the finals in a tension soaked stadium filled to capacity.

France opened scoring during the first half but by the end of the first 45minutes France was leading by 2-1.

The second half was more challenging for both countries but barely 15 minutes into the second half France scored the third and fourth goals that put them in a comfortable place.

Croatia did not give in all the same and was able to score their second goal fue to the lax attitude of the France goalkeeper. Although Croatia had better possession of balls and had many scoring chances, they lacked the capacity to convert such opportunities to their gain.

It was not so with France as the players made every good use of chances that came their way.
