Several houses have reportedly been set ablaze in an outbreak of violence in Kasuwan Magani, in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Details of the violence were still sketchy at the time of filing this report, but sources said violence is connected to the alleged abduction and forceful conversion of some girls by a religious group.

However, it was gathered that no less than seven persons were feared killed and 15 injured during the violence.

Kasuwan Magani is 31 kilometers away from Kaduna city, and  is located on the highway that links the state to Plateau, Nasarawa and Benue states.

On the order of Governor Nasir el-Rufai, massive security personnel have reportedly been deployed in the area.

Earlier on Monday, Senator Shehu Sani, in his tweeter handle @ShehuSani, wrote: “I received a distress call from Kasuwan Magani in Kajuru LG about an outbreak of violence. I have promptly alerted the relevant security agencies concerned. I appeal for peace.”

Kaduna has been in the eye of the storm of late, obviously for reasons that are more politically-motivated than the refusal of the indigenes to live together.

Governor El-Rufai and the senators have of late said things or taken actions that tended to divide rather than unite the state.

On the Monday, incident, the police confirmed the attack just as El-Rufai reportedly directed that the perpetrators of the mayhem be apprehended.
