Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has reactivated his many years face off with his deputy, former vice president Atiku Abubakar, indicating that he will still not back Atiku’s presidential ambition.
Speaking in an interview with Premium Times on Friday after a visit to Kigali, Obasanjo said ” God will not allow him to support Atiku.”
Atiku has flagged off his presidential sensitization and has been meeting with critical stakeholders iver his ambition.
He recently defected back to the People’s Democratic Party from the ruling All Progressive Congress which he joined in 2014 to ensure former President Goodluck Jonathan never got reelected in 2015.
Atiku has even met Obasanjo several times trying to woo him to his side.
Many had thought Obasanjo had made up with Atiku, more so as he is bent on ensuring that a strong candidate goes to the field to wrest power from President Muhammadu Buhari.
But Obasanjo shocked Atiku at the weekend when he dropped the bomb that his deputy does not fit the mould of a leader Nigeria needs.
Obasanjo believes Atiku is corrupt and that his government will celebrate corruption.
However, there are those who think Obasanjo is still fighting Atiku for making the former President kneel down for his deputy when Obasanjo sought for a secind term in 2003.
