Chairman of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Plateau State Chapter, Damishi Sango has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
Sango, a former minister of sports was kidnapped on Wednesday on his way to attend the forthcoming PDP elective National Convention on Saturday in Abuja.
He was reportedly kidnapped on the Abuja/Jos Road, according to family sources.
John Akans, publicity secretary of the party confirmed the incident, saying the former minister left Jos around 2 pm on his way to Abuja when the gunmen forced him to stop.
“They whisked him and his driver away while abandoning the jeep he was travelling in,” said Akans who condemned the act and called on security agencies to see to the safe return of the state party chairman.
On Monday, senator Ayo Arise from Ekiti State was also kidnapped by gunmen. He was taken along the Kogi axis.
