In what looks like a reprisal, two village heads in Adamawa became casualties in the attack launched by militia group who invaded seven communities in Numan area of Adamawa on Monday morning.
Homes were razed and property destroyed in the process.
Residents said they have not seen a thing like that before.
They lamented that the current security in place in the area cannot do much to save the situation.
Adamawa has been a centre of attack of late and when traditional rulers from the north met in Kaduna on Monday they decried the incessant killings in Adamawa or elsewhere in Nigeria and asked government to protect the lives and property of Nigerians.
Sultan of Sokoto, Said Abubakar led the other monarchs in their calls.
Last week gunmen invaded an Adamawa community and engaged the police which resulted in the death of give policemen.
