The All Progressive Congress (APC) National Working Committee (NWC) on Monday swore in the newly elected chairman of the APC in Imo state, Dr. Hilary Ekeh, to run the affairs of the party in the State for the next four years.
Ekeh was sworn in with the other elected members from the state who were part of the camp that protested the way the Governor, Rochas Okorocha, hijacked and messed up the APC structure in Imo.
All the newly executive members took their oath of office on Monday, June 4 at the NWC headquarters in Abuja amid pump by party faithful and supporters.
A source told Armadanew.com that the new Imo APC executives would be heading for Owerri today (Monday) to take possession of the party office.
He said with the swearing in, the Ekeh-led camp had been empowered to fully take charge of the Imo State APC structure starting from the wards to the state.
The source said the development leaves Governor Okorocha and his camp at the mercy of the group that protested his highhandedness recently which resulted in the congresses held recently that did not favour the governor and his camp.
