With a capacity of 40 MT, the NAFIL-Hyde Energy LPG Facility, the first of its kind, is located at the Nigerian Air Force base, Benue State, to provide the Force and its environs with reliable and sustainable source of energy and improve the adoption of LPG in homes and businesses as against the use of wood and kerosene.
The LPG facility will create jobs and boost the economy of Benue State while contributing to Nigeria’s Human Development Index.
Speaking at the official commissioning, the Chief Executive of Hyde Energy, Oladimeji Edwards commented: “We are proud to partner with the Nigerian Air Force to bring this important project to completion. This facility is a symbol of our commitment to a more secure and sustainable future. We are bringing tangible benefits to domestic and business LPG users, the Nigerian economy, and the environment at large. From developing storage terminals to establishing LPG hubs across Nigeria, our strategy focuses on delivering LPG to homes and other end users safely and efficiently.”
Also speaking at the event, the MD, NAFIL, Air Vice Marshal Al Adamu stated that the rationale behind the project was to ease the problem of unavailability of cooking gas for the residents of the base.
On his part, the Chief of Air Staff (CoS)⁷, Air Marshal Isiaka Amao, highlighted the significance of the NAFIL-Hyde Energy LPG Facility and commended Hyde Energy for the initiative.
Represented by the Chief of Administration, Air Vice Marshal Nelson Ebieteli Calmday, the CoS said: “This is a good project for the Nigerian Air Force Makurdi and for the community, and I am glad to witness the commissioning of the NAFIL-Hyde Energy LPG Facility.”
He stated that the commissioning of the project will enhance personnel motivation and welfare which is a priority of the Air force.
He further added: “Security and safety is our top priority as a security organization, and we will ensure that this will be adhered to. We are confident that the LPG facility will be a valuable asset to the Nigerian Air Force community and it will help enhance cleaner environment.”
Hyde Energy has expanded its business portfolio into crude oil, refined oil products, LPG, and dry bulk commodities. It has also grown its reach in Lagos, Abuja, Makurdi, Port Harcourt, Mauritius, London, and Malta. The company has also recently acquired a lubricant blending plant, LPG Bridgers, and Bobtails in addition to its 38-million-litre tank farm in Nigeria and other bulk storage facilities.
