…Insists APC, Uzodimma, unmoved, undistracted by cheap blackmail
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has berated the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Dabo Ologunagba for linking Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State with the ongoing crisis of confidence rocking the  PDP.
The Imo APC Publicity Secretary, Cajetan Duke said in a statement on Wednesday that contrary to the statement of the opposition party, information available to the ruling party, revealed that former members of the PDP, took some stakeholders of the party to the law enforcement agency on account of allegations bordering on slander.
The statement read: “The attention of the Imo State chapter of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been drawn to another misleading and mischievous press statement on various print and electronic media platforms credited to the National Publicity Secretary of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Dabo Ologunagba.
“It is unfortunate and unbecoming of a personality like Dabo, with his level of exposure and experience, to condescend to such a miserable low of poor reasoning and judgement to drag His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma and the government of Imo State into the misfortune of the Imo State chapter of the opposition PDP.
“It is unwarranted and mischievous, as it is provocative to associate our ever proactive and governance-minded Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma with the ongoing absurdity and crisis of confidence rocking the  PDP.
“Contrary to the statement of the party, information available to us, revealed that former members of the PDP, took some stakeholders of the party to the law enforcement agency on account of allegations bordering on slander. Dabo is aware of this, but out of sheer helplessness, mischief and desperation, chooses to drag the name of Uzodimma into the story. Quite a pity!
“It is important to remind Dabo and those on whose behalf he took the dangerous dive into infamy without regard to his personality and history, that Imo State Chapter of the PDP as presently constituted is doomed with a terminal self-inflicted injury.”
Duke added: “The PDP in Imo State is as challenged as her leaders, including those masquerading as governorship candidates, are constantly being chased about by their own shadow.
“Is it not said that he who comes to equity must come with clean hands? Therefore, if the PDP leaders in Imo State and their governorship candidates are poised to stew in their own juice, taking their dirty lifestyle before the law enforcement agencies, how does that concern the APC and Uzodimma that Dabo is crying foul over the rot that is within his Party?
“Dabo ought to be reminded that the thing which causes the smell associated with the male goat comes from within.
“Available records show that Imo people had long severed their relationship and partnership with PDP, as the party last won governorship election in the state 20 years ago. Imo people also have not reconciled their differences with PDP – a party that has failed to reconcile itself.
“Furthermore, the National Secretary of PDP as governorship candidate in the forthcoming gubernatorial election does not possess or enjoy any credibility and public appeal to intimidate our party, the All Progressives Congress and our Governor, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, hence this resort to crude politics of propaganda and blackmail.
“While we count down to the November 11, 2022 governorship election in Imo, our governor is still very busy and occupied with the business of governance, providing critical infrastructural needs of our people, re-engineering and stimulating the economic architecture of our state through civil service reforms, digital empowerment of our youths, and restoring people’s confidence in governance through strategic stakeholders’ engagement. These and many more are  assurances of our resounding victory at the polls come November 11.
“Finally, we wish to advise Dabo to be mindful of his utterances on behalf of Imo PDP, for the victory of Uzodimma is signed, sealed and delivered and we will celebrate this victory with Sam Daddy in attendance as usual.”
