IMSUBEB Participates In Effective School Program in Nigeria

SUBEB  Chairmen and other participants have been  urged to articulate ideas, strategies and suggestions that will enrich the draft framework on effective School Program.
The Executive Secretary Universal Basic Education Commission, Dr. Hamid Bobboyi made the call in his keynote address at the stakeholders engagement on the draft framework for the Effective School Program (ESP) in Nigerian (Southern Geo – Political Zone) held recently at the Dovers Hotel, Lekki, Lagos.
 He said that the programs Effective School Program ( ESP), Open Schooling Program, UBE Model School and E – Learning were intimated by UBEC with the view to ensuring equitable access to basic education  opportunities for all school age learning and also improving quality.
Dr. Bobboyi recalled that the Universal Basic Education Act 2004 empowered UBEC to among others coordinate the implementation of UBE related activities, prescribe minimum of three implementation of the UBE Act.
The Executive Secretary who reiterated that the stakeholders engagement is to reverse the ugly trend and reposition the basic education sub – sector for improved perfomance enjoined them to pursue their delineation with a singular sense of purpose and committement with the focus on the Nigeria child as the sole driving force.
In his address, the Acting Director Social Mobilization, Universal Basic Education Commission( UBEC), Dr. Osssom Osssom expressed his delight to UBEC for her drive and ideal to avail the Nigerian  child the required commitment that will produce effective learning space and world standard outcomes.
Osssom extended his gratitude to SUBEB Executive  Chairmen who demonstrated their resolve and commitment to lead the process of initiating positive change in UBE delivery and implementing necessary reforms tat eill transfer and reposition the Nigerian schools at the center of excellency in teaching and learning adding that there is need for basic education system managers to refocus attention on issues of quality in order to drastically improve services rendered in teaching and learning.
Stakeholders at the  occasion  include SUBEB Chairmen from 17 Southern States of the Federation, UBEC Directors and Zonal Directors as well as Directors Social Mobilization  from the affected States. IMSUBEB Executive Chairman was represented by the Permanent Board Member representing Okigwe zone / Chairman Committee on LGA and Public Affairs Hon. Bright Nwachukwu. IMSUBEB Director of Social Mobilisation Department, Lady Ifeoma Mbaeru was also present.
