INEC declares Umeh winner of Anambra Central rerun poll

Chief Victor Umeh of the All Progressive Grand Alliance has won the January 13 Anambra Central Senatorial reelection.

Umeh won in a landslide, scoring more than 64,879 votes.

The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Umeh validly elected in the early morning of Sunday in Awka.

Professor Charles Esemone, INEC chief returning officer said Umeh won the election with Chris Ngige of the APC being his closest rivalry scoring more than nine thousand votes.

Ngige scored 975 votes.
