The Independent NAtional Electoral Commission (INEC) will meet on Saturday, MAy 25 to review the judgement of the suprem Court that said that the candidates of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the recent governorship, state and national assembly polls were not validly chosen, hence their elections could not hold.

A five man Supreme Court panel ruled on Friday that elections of all the candidates who stood for the elections have been nullified and that the party that came second during the polls should automatically step into such offices where the APC candidates won.

Following the ruling, the INEC has called a crucial meeting on Saturday to take a second look at the ruling with the hope of making its decisions public on Monday, May 27.

A statement from the INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye said the Commission will communicate its final decision on the matter to the public on Monday, May 27 after their meeting on Saturday, May 25.
