There is an indication the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has postponed Saturday’s governorship and state assembly elections to March 18, 2023.

INEC’s decision is coming a few days before the March 11 date which was earlier scheduled for the state elections.

The elections were slated to hold this Saturday  March 11.

It was gathered that the INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, and Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) from the 36 states met on the governorship election on Wednesday evening in Abuja and considered the possibility of postponing the exercise.

The Court of Appeal, Abuja recently granted the electoral umpire the approval to reconfigure its Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) for the elections.
