Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, candidate of the All Progressive Congress is sure to be declared winner of the supplementary poll on Saturday March 23 held in Kano state.
The supplementary poll was marred by violence with the People’s Democratic Party and many others calling for cancellation of the exercise.
At the INEC collection centre on Sunday where the final results were being collated preparatory for announcement, many PDP supporters and election monitors advised the INEC to cancel the rerun poll over irregularities.
When the INEC Returning Officer read out all the cast ballots, the APC candidate, Ganduje polled 1,033,695 while the PDP candidate polled 1,024,413.
With Ganduje leading with more than 10,000 votes on simple majority, there was jubilation at his camp.
