The sit at home order given by the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) to all members in the South East part of Nigeria was completely obeyed in Onitsha this morning.
Onitsha is the commercial nerve of the South East and the traders in keeping to the directive stayed away from both tgeir shops anf offices.
The ever busy Niger Bridge was unusually free of the nornal gridlock as the place looked completely deserted.
Security operatives in tge country had threatened to stop the directive but the IPOB members said there would be no going back.
It is expected that other states in the South East such ad Enugu, Imo, Ebonyi, Abia, Delta, Rivers and other states where the Igbo are located will heed tge directive.
