Former President Goodluck Jonathan was in Kano yesterday, July 8 to commiserate with the family members and state of late elder statesman, Yusuf Maitama Sule who last week in Cairo, Egypt at 88.
Jonathan went to the state in the company of some People’s Democratic Party chieftain including former governor of Jigawa State Sule Lamido and other prominent indigenes of Kano where late Sule hailed from.
He also had a rousing welcome from Kano residents, most of who hailed him for his peaceful disposition while in office.
At the Kano State Government House, Jonathan told Governor Ibrahim Ganduje that the late Sule was a detribalised Nigerian who worked hard to ensure the unity of the country.
He canvassed for the emulation of the ideals Sule espoused as doing so will help to further keep Nigeria together.
