The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has again raised the Monetary Policy rate by 50 basis points to 27.25 per cent from 26.75 per cent.
CBN Governor, Olayemi Cardoso disclosed this while briefing journalists after the apex bank’s 297th Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting held on the 23rd and 24th of September in Abuja.
The MPC also retained the asymmetric corridor to +500 and -100 and raised the cash reserve ratio from 45 percent to 50 percent.
According to Cardoso, 11 of the 12 members in attendance were unanimous in the decision.
