Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State has ordered the immediate closure of all boarding schools across the state, following the spate of banditry in the state.
He gave the directive on Wednesday during a meeting with heads of security agencies in the state at the Government House following the Kagara school abduction.
Bello said the action was necessary to save the lives of the students.
Unknown armed men, in the early hours of Wednesday, attacked the Government Science College Kagara in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State
One student was feared killed and several others including teachers were abducted by the gunmen who wore military uniforms.
