President Muhammadu Buhari practically set Kano on fire on Wednesday when he arrived the state for a two-day official visit during which he is expected to commission some projects.
His arrival got the state electrified as supporters trooped out to receive him.
The president left the Abuja in a helicopter in the morning of Wednesday accompanied by top officials of his government.
Kano is believed to be one of Buhari’s political strongholds.
His advance team had arrived Kano on Tuesday, and went round the projects expected to be commissioned by the Buhari. He is in Kano on a two-day working visit, according to presidency.
When the President arrived on Wednesday, he headed for the palace of the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi 11 before rejoining the Kano State government entourage.
During the visit, Buhari has cause to pardon 500 inmates of the Kurmawa Prison in Kano state.
He did after speaking with them in the presence of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state.
