.Ganjude queries Sanusi over N3.4b fraud

Kano State will any moment from now boil over as the administration of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje insists on tge suspension of the Sarikin Kano, Emir Muhammad Sanusi II.
Feelers from the city of Kano suggest that the residents are now living in fear of what is about to happen.
Ganduje recently dismembered the Kano Emirate hitherto under Emir Sanusi and carved out four new emirates whose new heads were also designated first class Emirs like Sanusi.
It emerged on Wednesday that Ganduje insists on removing Sanusi whose reign has been accused of finacial recklessness and mismanagement of the Kano Emirate’s fund based on the releaes of an investigative report.
Consequently, the city of Kano is said to have been flooded with bandits called Yan Daba in Hausa with the residents wondering who brought them into Kano and from where.
A source who spoke to Armadanews.com on Thursday from Kano said peace is about to elude the city if nothing is done urgently.
According to the source, families have started sensitising their loved ones in Kano to relocate before the place boils over.
On Tuesday during the Eid-el-Fitri celebration in Kano, Ganduje was sighted with Sanusi at the prayer ground laughing with the Emir in what many thought was a reconciliation move.
But another source said it was only a smokescreen encounter orchestrated by Ganduje to finally nail Sanusi.
Sanusi believes Ganduje is fighting him for not supporting him politically.
Ganduje thinks the Emir is still more loyal to former Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, now sworn enemy to Ganduje.
Kwankwaso made Ganduje governor as hi deputy for eight years.
On the fear that Ganduje’s insistence on removing Sanusi may turn back to hurt him, residents are worried that Kano is noted, among others, the predominance of Almajiris who are always available for hire to do funny things.
The Yan Daba (bandits) are quite different from the Almajiris in their mode of operations.
It also emerged Thursday that Ganduje has issued a query to Sanusi for alleged financial misappropriation.
It was learnt that the query was issued on Wednesday by the office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) on behalf of Ganduje.
The query comes days after Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-corruption Commission recommended Sanusi’s suspension.
The commission alleged that over N3.4 billion was misappropriated under Kano Emirate which is overseen by Sanusi.
It also alleged that the said amount was misappropriated between 2014 and 2017.
