The Lagos State House of Assembly on Tuesday constituted a committee to probe the activities of former Governor Akinwunimi Ambode.

The panel hedaed by Hon Fatai Mojeed is to look into the purchase of 820 buses for public transportation in the state by the Ambode administration.

This latest move is another in series of efforts by the powers that be in Lagos to destroy the person of Ambode.

Recently, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) stormed Ambode’s Epe country home but his kits and kin repelled the move.

The EFCC claimed they are investigating the alleged money laundering of N9.8b from Ambode’s office as governor.

The former governor fell out with his political godfather, Bola Tinubu who vowed that Ambode must not get a second term in office.

During a recent retreat for the new executive members of the Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration, former governors of the state – Tinubu and Raji Fashola – were invited but Ambode was not.
