Public and private secondary and primary institutions in Lagos State may not go ahead with their planned vacation schools as the government has cancelled the exercise.
Almost all secondary and primary schools in the state engage in vacation education for one reason or the other but primarily to prepare students who will be writing either their final senior secondary school examination and the ones for junior WAEC.
The government was citing the spate of insecurity that has enveloped Lagos of late, leading to so many students being kidnapped from their school premises.
Six students kidnapped from their school in Epe for barely two months now are yet to regain their freedom.
The government had communicated to the schools in Lagos but while some of the school’s management had suspended the idea others are tinkering with alternatives.
