Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has relaxed the curfew he imposed in the state following the violence that erupted in parts of the state after the shooting of #EndSARS protesters in Lekki area of the state.
Sanwo-Olu made the announcement on Friday while briefing reporters at the Lagos House in Marina after the inspection of places and facilities affected during the crises that rocked the state after the shooting incident.
“We have decided that we are going to be easing the curfew from tomorrow (Saturday) morning; and what that easing means is that people will be allowed to go out from 8am to 6pm.
For emphasis, from 8am tomorrow morning, you will be allowed to go out, to go wherever you wish till 6pm in the evening.
“We will look at the curfew on Saturday and Sunday and we will come back to you on what will happen in the days – Monday, Tuesday, and into the week,” he explained.
The governor stated he had visited the various hospitals where some of the victims of the Lekki shooting were receiving treatment.
He also said the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) officials would embark on a thorough cleaning of the state and craved the understanding of road users in that regard.
