Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state on Saturday announced that tertiary institutions in the state will reopen on September 14 while primary and secondary schools in the state will resume fully on September 21, 2020.
The governor, who made the announcement while giving an update on Coronavirus at the Lagos House, Marina on Saturday said the pandemic had continued to drop in Lagos.
He however stated that the 21 resumption date for primary and secondary schools would be tentative.
Sanwo-Olu said government had expected that the curve would flatten by August, pointing out that in the last two weeks, the state had continued to record drop in infections.
He also said restaurants were permitted to open for e-dining services and must ensure 50 percent maximum occupancy, while social clubs and recreation centres that had registered with the government could also reopen for business.
Lounges, gym, spars, event centres, and others would still remain closed, the governor said.
