Nigeria had dipped again on the corruption index report released recently as the Transparency International says the country now comes 140 out of 180 countries covered by the report.

Worse still, Nigeria occupies the 32nd position in Africa and comes last but one position in West Africa before Equatorial Guinea.

Virtually all the indices used in measuring the performance of nations across the globe saw Nigeria trailing dangerously behind, including in the so much taljed about gight against corruption by the President Muhammadu Buhari- led All Progressive Congress government.

The People’s Democratic Party has reacted to the report saying  the party had been vindicated that the fight against corruption is not producing the required results.

Transparency International said it was regrettable the government of the day has not reined enough in public servants, most of who are still putting their hands in the public till.

Corruption, abuse of human rights, impunity and other factors were cited as some of the reasons Nigeria has remained at the low wrung of the TI corruption index ladder.
