Nigerians across religious and political divides on Sunday felicitated with President Muhammadu Buhari who turned 75 years on December 17.
Goodwill messages poured in from leaders into Buhari’s residence at Aso Rick Villa and the messages came from Buhari’s deputy, Yemi Osinbajo, former President Goodluck Jonathan, the Senate President Bukola Saraki, the Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara and the Deputy President of the Senate Ike Ekweremadu.
Governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosu, the Service Chiefs and Buhari’s domestic staff were among the people who personally visited him in his house to deliver different types of birthday cards to the President.
Also sending good will message to Buhari was governor Ayodele Fayose if Ekiti State who advised the President not to seek reelection in 2019 because he thinks Buhari would be too old to do so.
Buhari said he was overwhelmed with joy even though he was not used to celebrating birthdays.
He thanked Nigerians for their show of affection and thanked God for restoring his health.
