The trial of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), who is facing terrorism charges brought against him by the Federal Government of Nigeria has been adjourned undefinitely.

Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court Abuja adjourned the matter sine die indefinitely) at the instance of Kanu pending the resolution of the Federal Government’s appeal against the October 13 judgment of the Court of Appeal that discharged him from the terrorism charges.

The appeal filed by the Federal Government of Nigeria, seeking to set aside the Court of Appeal judgment is pending before the Supreme Court.

Also, the court put off indefinitely, two other cases billed for hearing before it for the same reason.

The IPOB leader refused to appear before the Federal High Court on Monday despite all entreaties

His refusal to appear in court on Monday, was conveyed to Justice Nyako by the Counsel to the Federal Government of Nigeria, Mohammed Abubakar.
