Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has officially taken membership with the Coalition for Nigeria Movement which he suggested in his letter letter to President Muhammadu Buhari last week.

Obasanjo did on Thursday in Ogun State at the secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Oke-Ilewo Abeokuta even as so many peoples took to the social media to complain about the old faces that constitute the group.

Former governors Olagunsoye Oyinlola and Donald Duke of Osun and Cross River states respectively were two key members of the group at the launch on Wednesday in Abuja.

Obasanjo said the coalition is on course to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 2019 nationwide.

“This will be a movement of the people, CN will emerge victorious in 2019”, Obasanjo predicted.

It is a prediction of doom for the two major parties in Nigeria, PDP and APC.

The former leader’s comment is a sign that the coalition will register to become a political party.
