Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has called the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, John Nnia Nwodo an idiot for the position the Igbo apex socio-cultural body took on Thursday by endorsing the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP), Atiku Abubakar.
Ohanaeze said the PDP is ready to restructure Nigeria and that the party has given consideration to the Igbo as regards inclusive governance.
But it appears the endorsement does not seat well with some people including Obiano who put a call across to Nwodo saying: “Nnia, I didn’t know that you were so idiotic.”
Apparently shocked that Ndigbo resolved to stand with PDP and Atiku while he dreams of pitching side with the Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressive Congress (APC), Obiano lost his civility and assaulted Nwodo on phone.
Nwodo’s communication with Obiano read: “Your Excellency Governor Obiano, I was shocked to receive a call from you a few minutes ago in which you said the following words “Nnia”, I didn’t that you are so idiotic.
“I am shocked you can be so insolent. I am sure that I was not so idiotic when i addressed your state Assembly asking Ndi Anambra to disregard the IPOB boycott of your election nor was I idiotic when I pleaded with the Commander in Chief to restore your security details.
“History will judge who amongst us is idiotic. If standing with the popular wish of Ndigbo makes me idiotic I am happy to be called an idiot. I will make this communication public so thatIgbos will know who is idiotic amongst both of us.|”
